Safety glass
According to the new guidelines of Sigab 002 "Glass and Safety", valid from 01.01.2018, glass in the area below 1m in height must be made of either safety glass, laminated glass or tempered glass on its inner side.
This is especially true for balcony doors and fixed glazing from floor to ceiling.
Elements opening onto a terrace or a large balcony and accessible from the outside are also affected by this requirement for their outside face. So a balcony holder has in principle 2 sides made of safety glass.
This requirement also applies to replacements.
